TOOELE — Tooele County police businesses are accepting donations by way of Dec. 10 for their 2018 Shop with a Cop program, which allows native regulation enforcement to assist needy youngsters through the holidays.
Donations may be made in individual at local police businesses or by mail to the Tooele City Police Department, 323 N. Essential, Tooele, UT 84074. Please make checks payable to Store with a Cop.
Youngsters concerned in the program have been chosen based mostly on needs including household situations, unemployment, not having the fiscal means to offer presents for the vacations or other family hardships.
On the morning of Dec. 15, eligible youngsters can be partnered with an officer and the two will eat breakfast together. After breakfast, the officers and youngsters will convoy in police automobiles to the Tooele Walmart. As soon as Santa arrives by Airmed helicopter, they’ll shop for Christmas presents for the youngsters and their families. Their presents will even be wrapped by volunteers, able to be opened on Christmas morning.
