Stamford: Traffic snarling I-95 tree-clearing to continue until Feb. 13

STAMFORD — Late rising northbound I-95 commuters may have until mid-February to clear the congestion causing tree clearing that has slowed late morning commutes for 2 weeks.

The month-long clearing — eradicating lifeless timber, slicing away excessive limbs and clearing indicators — has been northbound from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each workday between the New York line and downtown exit 7 since Jan. 14. Southbound, too, is being cleared from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Shifting lane closures, slicing off the rightmost lane as vans and wooden chippers work, will continue to sluggish visitors till Feb. thirteen, in response to the state Division of Transportation.
