Organizers of the protest say putting in Whitaker, who will oversee particular counsel Robert Mueller’s Trump-Russia investigation, is a conflict of curiosity as Whitaker has been an ally to the president. They worry Whitaker will hinder the investigation.
“This is someone who has stated publicly how he would primarily kill the investigation, and in my mind that is a critical menace to our complete system of government,” protester Marshall Lent stated. He held a sign that read “Rule of regulation, justice for all” on one aspect, and “Whitaker must recuse” on the other.
