FILLMORE — A man shot and killed his brother Sunday night time after an argument over property, police stated.

John Peck, 63, was arrested for investigation of murder, based on courtroom paperwork.

About 10:35 p.m., officers have been referred to as to a house at ninety eight W. one thousand North in Delta after Peck reported he’d shot his brother, Frank Wynn Bringard, seventy six, and wanted help, police stated.

When officers arrived, they met with an “emotional” Peck outdoors the home and took him into custody, based on an affidavit filed in 4th District Courtroom in Fillmore.

Inside, officers found Bringard lifeless of a gunshot wound on the living room flooring, police stated. No one else was within the residence.

Peck informed police that he had “gotten into an argument together with his brother over ‘titles’ to property which resulted in him capturing his brother,” based on the affidavit.

When later chatting with detectives, Peck stated he “thought his brother was mendacity to him over properties,” police wrote.
