Marjorie Cortez: 13-year-old Iowa boy falls to his death while climbing in Utah’s Snow Canyon State Park


SALT LAKE CITY — A thirteen-yr-previous Iowa boy fell to his dying Sunday afternoon whereas climbing in Snow Canyon State Park, park officials stated.

The boy, who was visiting the park together with his mom and two siblings, was free climbing in the Pioneer Names area when he fell “from a big peak and died resulting from injuries sustained from the autumn,” stated Utah State Parks spokesman Eugene Swalberg.

The boy died at the scene, he stated.

Park and Washington County emergency personnel responded to the accident, which occurred about 4:15 p.m. in what Swalberg stated was a well-liked recreation area with established climbing routes.
