WEST VALLEY CITY — Previous and present cops and firefighters will face off Saturday in the 18th annual “Guns and Hoses” charity hockey recreation.
Proceeds from the event go on to surviving relations of first responders who’ve died within the line of obligation.
The event begins at 12:30 p.m. on the Maverik Middle. The “Weapons and Hoses” recreation is scheduled for two:30 p.m., with a ceremonial puck drop by Elizabeth Romrell, widow of South Salt Lake police officer David Romrell, and Heather Burchett and son Griffin, survivors of Draper Hearth Battalion Chief Matt Burchett. This yr’s fundraising is concentrated on serving to the Romrells, Burchetts in addition to the family of Provo police officer Joseph Shinners, who was killed Jan. 5.
