Church donates $1.5M to American Red Cross for emergency response vehicles

MURRAY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated $1.5 million to the American Pink Cross on Friday for 10 new emergency response automobiles, together with one to be situated in Salt Lake Metropolis.

“This present is a testament to our great trust and respect for the American Purple Cross,” stated Bishop Dean M. Davies, first counselor within the church’s Presiding Bishopric.

The Purple Cross and the church also signed a brand new memorandum of understanding to extend their partnership to offer disaster aid.

“I can thank you enough for this present. It means all of the world to us,” stated American Pink Cross CEO Cliff Holtz.
