SALT LAKE CITY — A College of Utah professor has been introduced a world science award from Chinese language President Xi Jinping.
Jan D. Miller, a professor within the Division of Metallurgical Engineering, acquired the International Science and Know-how Cooperation Award throughout a ceremony on Jan. 8 within the Nice Hall of the Individuals in Beijing.
The award recognizes Miller’s cooperation in schooling and research with Chinese language universities and research institutions on the processing of power and mineral assets.
In line with the U., Miller has traveled to China more than a dozen occasions, visiting sixteen provinces to discuss, advise and collaborate on analysis involving coal, potash, phosphate, bauxite and different primary metallic assets.
The cooperation with China has included lectures, workshops and analysis tasks with Kunming University of Science and Know-how, Shanxi College and Central South College, and has concerned more than one hundred Chinese language college students and researchers who’ve visited or studied with Miller’s group at the U.
