911 call made by victim’s 5-year-old leads to discovery of deceased Utah mother; man arrested

WEST VALLEY CITY — A 911 call made by a 5-yr-previous Saturday evening led to the discovery of the child’s mom, Belinda Thomas, who had suffered multiple stab wounds and later died from the accidents regardless of resuscitation efforts made by first responders, in line with police.

On Sunday, West Valley police recognized a suspect within the incident, 50-yr-previous Darren Byrd, who’s being held for investigation of aggravated homicide, youngster abuse, obstruction of justice, possession of a weapon by a restricted individual and domestic violence within the presence of a kid.

Around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, West Valley City police have been referred to as to the 3200 block of West Chester Park Drive, in accordance with West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku. Thomas’ 5-yr-previous son had made a 911 call indicating that his mother was injured.
