2 Stamford nursing homes fined by state for lapses in care

Five Connecticut nursing houses have been fined by the state Division of Public Well being following lapses in care, including one incident after which a resident died.

Jewish Senior Providers of Bridgeport was fined $three,060 after a resident with multiple sclerosis died after falling from a mattress onto the ground. On June 12, 2018, a registered nurse was making use of protective dressings to the resident’s coccyx, turned away to eliminate the dressing wrappers and, when she turned back toward the resident, noticed the resident was beginning to fall, in line with the quotation. The RN tried to stop the fall however couldn’t.
